Exact analysis of surface field reduction due to field-emitted vacuum space charge, in parallel-plane geometry, using simple dimensionless equations

چکیده
This paper reports a a simple dimensionless equation relating to field-emitted vacuum space charge FEVSC in parallel-plane geometry, namely 9 2 2−3 −4 +3=0, where is the FEVSC “strength” and is the reduction in emitter surface field =field-with/field-without FEVSC , and b the formula j=9 2 /4, where j is the ratio of emitted current density JP to that predicted by Child’s law. These equations apply to any charged particle, positive or negative, emitted with near-zero kinetic energy. They yield existing and additional basic formulas in planar FEVSC theory. The first equation also yields the well-known cubic equation describing the relationship between JP and applied voltage; a method of analytical solution is described. Illustrative FEVSC effects in a liquid metal ion source and in field electron emission are discussed. For Fowler–Nordheim plots, a “turn-over” effect is predicted in the high FEVSC limit. The higher the voltage-to-local-field conversion factor for the emitter concerned, then the higher is the field at which turn over occurs. Past experiments have not found complete turn over; possible reasons are noted. For real field emitters, planar theory is a worst-case limit; however, adjusting on the basis of Monte Carlo calculations might yield formulae adequate for real situations. © 2008 American Institute of Physics. Effect of Magnetic Field and a Mode-I Crack 3D-Problem in Micropolar Thermoelastic Cubic Medium Possessing Under Three Theories
A model of the equations of two dimensional problems in a half space, whose surface in free of micropolar thermoelastic medium possesses cubic symmetry as a result of a Mode-I Crack is studied. There acts an initial magnetic field parallel to the plane boundary of the half- space. The crack is subjected to prescribed temperature and stress distribution. The formulation in the context of the Lor...

In this present study the double layers structure model of extended Korteweg-de Vries(K-dV) equation will be obtained with the help of the reductive perturbation method, which admits a double layer structure in current plasma model. Then by using of new analytical method we obtain the new exact solitary wave solutions of this equation. Double layer is a structure in plasma and consists of two p...

Here, we investigate the possible optical anisotropy of vacuum due to gravitational field. In doing this, we provide sufficient evidence from direct coordinate integration of the null-geodesic equations obtained from the Lagrangian method, as well as ray-tracing equations obtained from the Plebanski’s equivalent medium theory. All calculations are done for the Schwarzschild geometry, which resu...

In this paper, scattering of a plane and monochromatic electromagnetic wave from a nano-wire is simulated using surface integral equations. First, integral equationsgoverning unknown fields on the surface is obtained based on Stratton-Cho surface integral equations. Then, the interaction of the wave with a non-plasmonic as well as a palsmonic nano-wire is considered. It is shown that in scatter...
